This is Summer 2025 - 4 Heatwaves for the British Isles

We are well and truly blessed with sunshine and warmth this summer, amazingly in the north of England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland, not just the capital with its extreme temperatures.

What does one do when projects and just plain life puts the creative work of drawing/painting on hold for a time?

I have found that to chill out in the evenings, reading, studying and watching art programs has been very beneficial, inspiring and challenging at the same time.
Thankfully, I made a determined effort to schedule a painting day recently, after some housekeeping. This is my take of Pienza, in Tuscany, Italy, using pieces of different photo references by kind permission of © Cindy Briggs. Please check her website out in the link section.

After drawing out the scene freehand, I spent a couple of hours having fun with paint again, changing the colours, flowers, windows etc that Cindy had used, and adding my own with some visioneering. I love that Cindy encourages this way of working.

There is an ongoing project of my own that I am working on, begun at the the beginning of August, awaiting completion. I do hope to share with you soonest, so please keep tuning in. Initially, it will be posted in latest work. Thank you.

Meanwhile, ‘Pienza’ is here to encourage you to have some fun time too being creative. It’s all therapy and good to focus on something that gives a sense of happier times during these turbulent ones our world is going through.

Be blessed in what ever ways you find time to be creative, enjoy life. Sandra
